Until February 2011, the Villa des Lilas Oasis Clinic’s opening date, there wasn’t in Morocco, any specialized clinic in the treatment of mental illness, with all the consequences that this could have on patients and their families. They were then treated in medico-surgical clinics which was completely unsuitable for most of them. With the development of psychiatry in our country the creation of an environment solely dedicated to psychiatric and psychotherapic care had become a necessity.
The Villa des Lilas Oasis Clinic was a 27-bed hospital facility for patients with psychiatric conditions and/or addictions geared towards adult care but exceptionally intended to accommodate adolescents or older children as well. Day hospitalization was also offered.
It was the only care structure in Morocco recognized by the Ministry of Health as a specialized institution in psychiatric care and empowered by it to receive hospitalizations without consent. It met international standards in terms of infrastructure but also in terms of the quality of care and patient safety.
It was the only health care facility in the Maghreb and throughout Africa that specialized in the mental illness management, with exclusively private funds.
Given the importance of demand, the creation of a new much larger entity that would be even better equipped than the first one had become an absolute necessity. Thus, the project sprouted in the the 1st Villa des Lilas clinic founders’ mind, that is to say my wife and I, in 2014. Therefore, the development of a large-scale project was born to take place in a historic district of Casablanca, the Casa-Anfa airport complex, which has become since 2006 a residential area of the most modern housing, among others, Casablanca City Finance.
And so, the project of the new clinic named “Villa des Lilas Anfa” was initiated, which doors will open at the end of May 2020.
The new Villa des Lilas Anfa Clinic offers 75 hospital beds in private rooms spread over 5 floors and a day hospital on the whole of the 6th floor.
Both its architectural design and the the care organization provided meet the highest international standards in this area.
